How to make review games

Start with vocabulary words, terms and definitions, or questions and answers for your next lesson. Each line becomes an item, and repeated lines are removed with a count shown.

  1. Paste your material into Your list, with one item or term-and-definition pair per line.
  2. Check Separator. Use Auto for automatic splitting, or choose the separator that matches your list.
  3. Look under Games from this list to see which games are ready and whether any items will not fit.
  4. Select Open beside a game to take your list to that game page.
  5. To keep the list for another lesson, enter a title in List title and select Save list.

Which games work with your list

Choose your list format before choosing a game. Words alone work for spelling and vocabulary games; definitions or answers give you material for clues, card backs, and quiz questions.

  • Words only: use word search, word scramble, hangman, bingo, or the wheel. The list needs at least 3 words for word search, 9 different words for bingo, 1 word for hangman or word scramble, and 2 entries for the wheel.
  • Terms and definitions: use crossword or flashcards. Crossword needs at least 3 pairs with definitions; flashcards also accept words alone, but those cards have no back side.
  • Questions and answers: use the quiz board with at least 2 pairs. For a categorized board, each line can include category, points, question, and answer.

Class tools for the projector

Use these tools alongside your review game or during everyday class routines. Select Full screen to show only the tool on your projector.

  • Classroom timer: set a countdown for a warm-up, small-group task, or exit ticket.
  • Spin the wheel: spin to choose a name or an item from your list.
  • Random groups: split first names or student numbers into balanced groups by group count or people per group.
  • Scoreboard: keep scores for 2 to 8 teams, with a color and shape for each team.
  • Noise meter: measure relative classroom loudness after allowing microphone access; sound is not recorded or sent anywhere.

Save or share your list

Lists stay in this browser; a share link carries the list after the # sign, and that part of the address is not sent to the site. Use Share link and Copy link to pass the list to another teacher or move it to your classroom computer.

Select Download file to save a JSON file, then use Open file to open it here or in a game. If a share link exceeds 8,000 characters, the tool suggests downloading a file instead.

Common questions

Do students need accounts to play?

No accounts or sign-up are needed. For games shown on the projector, students do not need their own devices.

Can I print the review games?

Printable games use the browser print window, with Letter or A4 paper. To make a PDF, choose the browser’s option to save as PDF in that window.

Can I paste terms from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Copy two columns for terms and definitions; the tab between columns is read as the separator. You can also paste pairs separated by a spaced dash, a colon, or an equals sign.

How many words can I paste?

The list accepts up to 300 lines and 20,000 characters. Individual games have smaller limits: word search and crossword use up to 40 items, while flashcards use up to 200. The game card tells you how many items will not fit.

Will my saved lists be there next time?

Saved lists stay in the browser on this device, not in an account. If the browser blocks storage, the tool still works until you close the page and tells you the work was not saved. Download a JSON file if you need a separate copy.
